The Glacier Bay 21" Newport cultured marble vanity top (sold at Home Depot) had micro holes in the drain area. I had it installed by an experienced plumber, whom I use for all my apartment buildings.
After noticing a leak and checking all possibilities, we were surprised to see the leak coming through holes in the cultured marble itself in the drain area! Showed holes to Home Depot and they said I had to take it up with the manufacturer.
I had to pay the plumber to install this defective top, then remove it, go pick up a replacement and hire the plumber to put one in for a second time.
Home Depot didn't stand behind it and did not have a process to follow up with the manufacturer, Glacier Bay.
This defect cost me an additional $150 or so of labor (a 2nd service call + 1 hr.
labor) plus my time to get a suitable replacement. Costly and annoying.
Reason of review: Damaged or defective.
Monetary Loss: $150.
Preferred solution: Cover additional labor required due to defective vanity top.
